Remodeling, Rebuilding or Repairing?
By Mary-Justine LanyonThe 16th annual Mountain Home Improvement Expo will take place this weekend throughout Lake Arrowhead Village. Homeowners looking for ideas or assistance with their remodeling, rebuilding or repair projects need look no further than the displays the 30 or so contractors will have at the event.
As guests “travel” from one booth to another, they can get their passports stamped (or initialed). Once they have visited every booth, guests can take the completed passports to the Association of Building Contractors of the San Bernardino Mountains booth, where they will be entered in a drawing for $100—each day. The winner need not be present, according to Executive Director Sue Parks.
The public also gets to vote on the “best of show,” Parks said. Ballots will be available at the ABC booth, which the association will share with the three event sponsors—Sierra Paciic Windows and Doors, SunSetter Awnings and Turf-n-USA—and the Lake Arrowhead Communities Chamber of Commerce, which is co-presenting the event with ABC.
“We have a good cross-section of exhibitors,” Park said. Guests will be able to get information on office machines, satellite TV, building materials, electrical contractors, roofers, awnings, insurance, the Lake Arrowhead Community Services District, Lake Arrowhead Patrol & Security Services, windows and doors, ponds, lighting, chimney sweeps, financial services and home inspection.
In addition, Parks noted, there will be information on an energy assistance program for low-income families.
The event will take place on Saturday, June 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Sunday, June 26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
